Skin Care - Quick Pick Me Ups Haul

On a mission to find a few products that would work well with my sensitive/dry to oily combination skin, these were a few Pick Me Ups that I purchased after reading fair reviews from UltaMUA, TotalBeauty, and other beauty bloggers/YouTubers...

(L-R) Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Face Powder, Physicians Formula
Organic Wear Mascara and EOS Honey Dew Lip Balm
With all the MAC Mineralize Foundation I currently use, my face felt like it was in need of something lighter and more natural. Plus, I just wanted to have a press powder that I could carry in my purse and use to touch up during the day if needed. Its been years since the last time I've used a Physicians Formula product and after reading reviews on this face powder that I picked up, I thought "why not give this a try?". After doing my homework and listening to what various outlets have said, I was immediately sold due to these reasons:
  • Made for extra-senstive or breakout prone skin
  • Talc-free
  • Hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved
  • Non-comedogenic and oil free
  • Helps to minimize the risk of irritation and breakout
  • Eliminates the look of a chalky dry finish
  • Minerals such as Mica and Silica help achieve a smooth, "second skin" feel and finish
  • Minimizes the appearance of fine lines
  • SPF 16
  • Has derivatives of Vitamins A & E which help to protect and condition the skin

It says it works best when you apply a moisturizer/primer beforehand which of course I'd be insane not to do. I'm definitely looking forward to giving this particular product a whirl alone and on top of my regular go to MAC foundation. After testing it out, I'll be sure to update you all on this product.

As for the second Pick Me Up, the reason for this purchase was all a result of my experience with my current Maybelline Falsies Waterproof Mascara. Fed up of the thick clumps, I just didn't want to deal with the unevened look after applying. Don't get me wrong, it does what it says by means of adding volume and length, but it was bit too sticky, heavy and clumpy for me. Since my main goal is to emphasize a more natural look, I was delighted to see that Physicians Formula carried an Organic Wear Mascara that is said to be 100% free of the following:
  • Harsh chemicals
  • Synthetic Preservatives
  • Parabens, GMO's and Petroleum
  • Clumping
  • Smudging
  • Flaking
  • Fibers
  • Dyes
  • Fragrance
It is said to be the 1st Ever *ECOCERT* certified organic line of makeup in the US as well as Opthalmologist approved. Compared to the Traditional Mascara, this one has the following:

  • Organic Orange Water extracted from orange fruits to hydrate and moisturize
  • Organic Aloe and Cucumber Extracts that calm, soothe and moisturize
  • Organic Tapioca Starch that naturally boosts volume
  • Organic Beeswax providing buildable formula
  • 100% Natural Origin Color Pigments and Rice Proteins
  • OrganiSoy for moisturizing and nourishing the lashes and Eco-Olive, an antioxidant that sheilds lashes from harsh environmental aggressors.
  • Eco-Friendly

Can't wait to try this mascara out so that I can share with you the results of this Pick Me Up. I'm crossing my fingers!

Lastly, being such a fan of Natural and Organic EOS products, I decided to go ahead and purchase another Lip Balm to add to my growing collection. This time I picked up the Honeysuckle Honeydew flavor which smells so refreshingly yummy! Even though I have yet to open the Summer Fruit flavor, I just had to pick this one up as it was one of the last two left. If you haven't read my previous post in regards to this Lip Balm, click here to read more about it. I just love how this makes my lips feel everyday! No need for me to post a review on this particular product since I've been raving about this from the very beginning.

I had been looking forward to adding more products to my haul, however Target unfortunately ran out of one of my go to liquid eyeliners which I was a bit annoyed about. They also ran out of two AM and PM lotions I was looking forward to purchasing and trying out so it looks like I'll have to shop online for those products since they seem to be in high demand. I was able to find a few Skin Care Regimen Pick Me Ups which I will post about so stay tuned ya'll!

    1. oh hehe, the am and pm lotions are made by cerave. i'm going to post about it after a week of using since i was only able to pick up the regular moisturizing lotion rather than the actual facial lotions made to use for the morning and night time. everywhere i go, they seem to run out of the products, but before i try to purchase them online, i'll see how the regular stuff reacts to my skin then update you all on my results ;) yes, i'm also trying to find that same lotion that will work well. hope this one works! ;) XoXo
