Back to Normal

I hope you've all had a wonderful Heart's Day as I sure did! Its been a while since the last time my Valentine and I have had a scrumptious dinner and yesterday was the best occasion to do so. I was lucky enough to have him home early from work as he had along with him some items from our local Whole Foods Market such as the Estancia Merlot wine, Vanilla and Dark Chocolate cupcakes, New York Steak and a Shrimp Cocktail that we both prepared as a team together in the kitchen.

Yes we love our steaks medium rare! :) - Bomb.com

Our dinner was simply prepared with touches of love from us both as he cooked the NY Steak and a side of Rosemary Potatoes. I then prepared another side of Vegetable Melody Stir Fry that had Organic items we already had such as broccoli, orange pepper, mushrooms, onions and carrots. I definitely cherished this time as we did something we both enjoy doing together in the comfort of our own home without any distractions. This meant more than having to go out and buy food and receiving any gifts. Sometimes, it's the little things that count and it's true, the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach! Haha, well for me that is!

Now we're back to normal and back on our regular work out routine. I will admit, last year was pretty tough for me as I gained weight from having enjoyed eating out during the weeks. After moving to Houston, I was overwhelmed with so many eateries that I've seen on tv that I just had to try most of them and had gained weight! What made it most difficult was also becoming sick and having sinus issues as I wasn't fully adapting well to the weather here having always been too hot or too cold. I recently came back from a trip three weeks ago from my hometown in San Diego with my hub and unfortunately, I did not enjoy at all. I thought being home would make me feel better, but it didn't. Luckily my MIL (my Mother in-law) gave me a newly packaged prescription of Flonase that I remembered using as a child for Sinus Infections. After arriving back home, I used the medication and it amazingly made me feel so much better! Thank goodness!

Since those three weeks have passed, I got back on my workout routine and up to this date, I have lost 9lbs! I have been taking pictures each week of my progress and until I reach my goal to get back to a more leaner and defined 108lbs., I will share with you my pictures that I have taken along the way. It's been tough during the first week, but I kicked myself in the rear and finally listened to my hub as he has always been working out and has been encouraging me since day one. Since college, I've always been working out, however last year, I really let myself go. Here is a snip it of me with my hub all the way back in 2001 when we were just dating. I love weight training, however right now, I'm working with what I have at home with resistance bands, a pull up bar and a few other items. I've been taking vitamins and supplements everyday and it sure is helping! Until I reach my goal, I promise to get myself a membership and join my hub during his work out sessions.

There are a few weddings we'll be attending back in California so my goal is to be able to fit like a glove into a cute little number! I'm looking forward to that! I'm already happy that I'm able to fit back into some clothes that I haven't worn in a while so as long as I keep going, I will see the results that I am truly happy with. It sure is addicting once you get into and I can't wait to share my progress with you all soon!
