Wake Up Your Complexion w/The Korean Konjac Facial Sponge

Move over Foreo Luna! There's a  new tool in town and it doesn't rotate, oscillate or vibrate, but it does promise more radiant skin -- just from washing your face. Meet the Konjac sponge

What is Konjac?

The Konjac potato or Konnyaku is a perrenial plant native to Asia and can be found growing wild at very high altitudes. A totally natural food source, Konjac is 97% water, rich in mineral goodness and low in calories. The plant is naturally alkaline, which leaves the skin perfectly balanced.

Let's get straight to the point. There are a lot of companies out there that attempt to duplicate The Konjac Company's products, but don't quite get it right. The Konjac Sponge Company's products are free of chemicals, coloring, additives, and irritants. 100% biodegradable and sustainable, they are lovingly hand blended with natural volcanic water to help create a powerful sponge.

Does The Sponge Company carry different sponges?

You'll be surprised at the array of facial sponges that this multi-award winning company carries! I had the pleasure of trying 2 out of the 3 different kinds of facial sponges (as seen below) which are all tailored to something different. I'll be traveling in the next few weeks to visit my Sister in-law, so I'm saving this Mini Pore Refiner for the trip!

My Thoughts?

After several weeks of using the Facial Puff w/Pink Fresh Clay (what I'm holding as seen above), I can tell that the rough areas where dryness appeared the most began to disappear every day that I used it. I just love how my skin would feel afterwards and feel so refreshed. It never irritated my sensitive combination skin or dried it out. What I also love about it is that it's really easy to use! All you do is hydrate your sponge in warm water, squeeze out any excess water and then gently cleanse your skin! You don't necessarily need to use any cleanser with it, but if desired, you can add a small amount as it'll help the product work harder and go farther.

After use, you just rinse it out well and make sure to just squeeze the sponge flat between your hands because if you wring it out, you can damage the delicate plant fibers. When drying, I just hang it up in a dry area where it won't get wet like in the shower. Once it's all clean and dry, I pop it in the fridge to keep it fresh and cool, which can help it last longer. When it dries, it'll shrink and harden which is perfectly natural. The better the care, the longer it'll last. Trust me.

It should last you 2-3 months and once it starts to look tired or broken down, then that's when it's time to replace it. What's cool is that if you're into composting, you can safely do that with this product or use it in your garden to help water your plants by holding moisture. Pretty cool right?
