Try Day Friday - Skin Care Review

Ahh yes, Try Day Friday.  I didn't have the chance to do a Skin Care Quick Pick Me Up or Review last week so today I thought it'd be best to do one (a review to be exact) on the latest items that I've been using for about a month now. These items that I'll be reviewing today are the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion.

Prior to purchasing these items, I was in dier need for a good cleanser and moisturizer that would work well and help aid my sensitive/dry & oily combo skin. With much research and having watched News health segments on these products, I decided to give it a try especially with the fact that at the time of the purchase, I had broken out from using the Oil of Olay Pore Minimizing Cleanser which I had previously done a review about.

Before my review, here's some info about CeraVe's products which convinced me to purchase these items above...

  1. It contains Ceramides and other skin-nurturing and productive ingredients including vital humectants and emollients to replenish and retain needed moisture.
  2. Non-irritating
  3. Non-comedogenic
  4. Dermatologists recommended
  5. Does not strip the skin
  6. Calms redness
  7. Its patented MVE (Multivesicular Emulsion) technology helps essential ingredients penetrate deep into the skin to hydrate and nourish.
  8. For Dry to Normal Skin

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
The goal of this cleanser is a huge part of a daily skin care routine.  It gently removes dirt, dead cells, medication residues, oil, and makeup without disrupting the skin's natural protective barrier.

CereVe Hydrating Cleanser Applied
It's proven to prevent moisture from escaping (evaporating) from the skin's surface.  Along with that, it's fragrance-free and does not cause acne by clogging the pores.

Once applied, it does not leave any greasy residue.  It has an elegant formulation as I did a quick swipe on the palm of my hand to the right to show you how thin the solution is which glides on smoothly and clearly.

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion
This lotion is uniquely formulated to increase the skin's ability to attract, hold and distribute moisture.  It penetrates deeply into the skin's barrier to restore the balance of essential lipids.

What this does is it helps keep the skin intact so it can protect the against outside irritants and prevent against moisture loss.
Also, it helps restore damaged skin and helps keep skin healthy.

Dermatologists have recommended this product alone for dry, itchy skin as well as combination with prescription medications. You can also ask your dermatologist about the CeraVe Skincare line.

MY REVIEW
After the first week of using these products, I was a bit skeptical and unsure, however I wanted to give it some time before I jumped the gun and reviewed without letting my pimple (which I had at the time) fade away.

The first week was a little rough only because I was still getting accustomed to using these products after having used other products which may have been the reason for my breakout.  I was dealing with severely dry skin due to the Acne Treatment that I purchased along with these products, but after that week, the dry skin became less apparent and the irritation was subsiding.

At night after using the cleanser (when I had the breakout), I would pat dry my skin and then apply a tiny amount of the Acne Treatment on the affected area of my face.  Once dry, I then applied the lotion all around my face including where I had applied the treatment.  Keep in mind, this lotion also works for the whole body so I also began using it for that as well before bed time.

In the mornings (after waking up), I would notice a huge dramatic difference and I kid you not! My face felt smooth and the dry patches were disappearing! In fact, the dryness has all disappeared as of today!!! Now that I have been using these products for about a month, I have had no breakouts and my skin has never felt any smoother!!! For first time users, it's best to use the lotion at night rather than in the day as you might feel like you have another layer of skin on top (that experience may have been due to the hot weather and humidity I was experiencing), but after getting use to applying this product daily, my skin easily absorbs it and it truly keeps my skin feeling soft and hydrated!  I swear my neck has never felt like a baby's bum in such a long time!!!

Would I recommend this product? Yes, I definitely would and do for those that are having trouble with their dry, itchy and sensitive skin.  I know how difficult it is to find products that work well with these skin types and I wouldn't suggest anything unless it has made a dramatic difference on myself, but I know these results vary differently with each individual out there.

If you choose to give this a try, give this about two weeks and you will definitely notice the difference. These products can be purchased at Target or any other local drugstore in your area for a very reasonable price.  I almost purchased the Cetaphil products, however because of the YouTube News Highlights and reviews featured on the Today show and so forth, I just had to give this a try. This is now my go to cleanser and moisturizer!
